Islamic Texts and Resources Metapage
- Located at the University of Buffalo, this site includes an
introductory section followed by sections dedicated to scriptures and
prophetic traditions, Islamic thought, and language and art resources. It
is "an attempt to provide a 'springboard' for exploring texts and
resources on Islam and Islamic thought, ideas, and related issues."
- Sufism:
Taking up the Path to Divine Presence
- The Haqqani
Foundation
presents a special exhibition on Islamic mysticism.
Sufism encourages peace with oneself and with one's fellow human beings.
"The Sufis say, 'If human beings knew their own inner secrets, never would
they look elsewhere for seeking happiness, peace and inner light.'
Therefore the essence of the Path is to find oneself. 'Know thyself, know
thy Lord!' is an imperative of the Sufi Way." The Haqqani
Foundation is dedicated to spreading "the Sufi teachings of the
brotherhood of mankind and the Unity of belief in God that is present in
all religions and spiritual paths. Its efforts are directed at bringing
the diverse spectrum of religions and spiritual paths into harmony and
concord, in recognition of mankind's responsibility as caretaker of this
fragile planet and of one another."
